1979 Fernando Gonzalez Game-Worn Padres Jersey/Pants w/Player’s Letter (One Year Style)

Situational reliever Fernando Gonzalez played at the big league level for eight seasons. The righty donned this jersey/pants combination when he played for the Padres in 1979. Sourced directly from Gonzalez, this outfit was used by the team for only one year. The Padres of the late ’70s used a few different styles. According to one jersey source, the style is similiar to 1978 but there are subtle differences in the lettering and no "San Diego" reference on front as the team used the previous season.

The use on the knit jersey is moderate with puckering, edge softness and decent fraying. The numbers are created in two-color tackle twill while the NOB (arched on a nameplate) is crafted in single-color brown. Situated in the tail is a "13 79" swatch and Wilson size "42" label.
Also included in the offering are the matching pants which Gonzalez wore. A "13 79 2A" swatch is placed in the waistline as is a Wilson size "32" tag. A letter of authenticity from Gonzalez will attend.
