Description
Mel Bennett played forward for the Virginia Squires (1975-76) of the ABA and the Indiana Pacers (1976-78), Utah Jazz (1980-81) and Cleveland Cavaliers (1981–82) of the NBA.
Presented is a Mel Bennett game-worn pullover (1980-81 season) warm-up jacket from the Utah Jazz. It originates directly from a team-source and epitomizes pro-basketball style in the 1980s. This one, in particular, can be dated to 1980-81 season primarily because that is the season he was there.
The warm-up shows the Jazz color including a striped pattern in yellow/purple/green across the front and highlighted collar/sleeve ends in the same colors. The front also features a screened on Jazz logo. There is no tagging on this one. The back of the jacket has a sewn-on name-plate with a screened on “BENNETT”. Consistent wear from an entire season can be seen throughout, with sweat staining, puckering and fraying.
