1980-85 Joe Morgan Game-Worn Reds Warm-Up Jacket

The diminutive Morgan was as smooth and powerful on the field as he is suave and composed in the booth. This Reds satin jacket was given by Morgan to Mike Schmidt’s close friend, Bruce Wendell, in the early to mid ’80s and dates from 1980-85. Morgan told Wendell that he rarely used it, and that it remained in his locker endlessly. It sports the Cincinnati Reds logo on the left chest and in the collar it has a Wilson [size] “40” label and a leather hang piece sewn above it. The jacket shows minimal wear, as would be expected based on Morgan’s own assessment of its use. Accompanying the jacket is Wendell’s letter.
