Description

Here is a very desirable game used World Series ball, which are few and far between. In all, 13 Philadelphia Phillies and two Kansas City Royals have signed this game-used Official 1980 World Series ball which saw action in the championship clinching Game 6. Although there is no documentation, the ball shows excellent game use characteristics.

The roster of players and respective signatures represented on its game-used hide and panels reads like a Who’s Who of the era’s talent, including Pete Rose, regular season and World Series MVP Mike Schmidt, Gary Maddox, Larry Bowa, Cy Young winner Steve Carlton, Tug McGraw, Lonnie Smith, and more! Also signing were Marty Bystrom, Bob Walk, Ron Reed, Dickie Noles, Keith Moreland, and Larry Christenson of the Fightin’ Phils.

In addition, the ball has autographs of Jaime Quirk and Rich Gale of the Royals, who were probably in the Philadelphia clubhouse after the final game congratulating the victors on their Series win. (They certainly wouldn’t have been mingling like that with the Phillies any earlier in the Series!) There’s probably not another one out there that’s exactly like this one!
