1980s Dave Casper Game-Worn Oilers Jersey (Hall of Famer)Go Back
1980s Dave Casper Game-Worn Oilers Jersey (Hall of Famer)
Out of stock
While Dave Casper was known as a Raider during his Hall of Fame career, he did catch passes for the Houston Oilers for three years as well. Hawaiian blue doesn’t seem as menacing as the Raidahs silver and black, but Casper combined with fellow Hall of Famer Earl Campbell on offense.
This pullover jersey was worn by Casper during his days with Bum’s bunch. There’s staining on the mesh shoulders, but we can’t determine if it is washed out blood. Two tears are found on the jersey, one at the left underarm. According to jersey expert Lou Lampson it doesn’t appear from game action. All of the identifiers are screened on in two-color. Extra length is built into the underarms. Glue affixed in the tail is an Oilers Medalist exclusivity tag (partially disengaged) and remnants of the size tag. "CASPER" is heat-pressed to an elongated nameplate. The bottom stem on the "S" is missing and a few of the letters have pulled away on the edges. This has happened on other known exemplars from the same time period. Overall, a quality jersey from one of Canton’s finest.
