1980’s Lou Whitaker Detroit Tigers Game-Worn Helmet

Sweet Lou Whitaker teamed up with Alan Trammell to create one of baseball’s best infield tandems of all time. The duo played their entire careers in the Motor City. Whitaker wore this helmet during the 1980’s when he was batting near the top of the Tigers lineup. The [size] “7” helmet shows good use with a number of small scratches. A “1” decal is placed on the verso of the ABC shell. Good use is exhibited on the inside headband. “L. WHITAKER” is written onto a paper strip tag and applied to the front bill. The Tigers have been very protective with their equipment and this provides a rare chance to own a true gamer.
