1980s Matt Williams Signed, Game-Used Bat

Easily forgotten the fact that, if not for a labor dispute, San Francisco Giants third baseman Matt Williams was in position to hit a record 61 home runs in one season. This Cooper Pro 100 M110 bat was used by Williams as a Giant in the late 1980s period. The war club shows substantial use in the form of hit and cleat marks. The bat also has a heavy coat of pine tar on the slightly checked (scored) handle. The knob is marked with uniform numbers “9” and “10” in black felt tip. (Williams wore the numbers in 1987 and 1988). He signed the bat in silver paint pen (“#9”), and the autograph is lightly coated to preserve it quality.
