Description

After being selected by the Denver Nuggets with the 23rd overall pick in the 1980 NBA draft, Carl Nicks played in three seasons with three different teams: the Nuggets (1980), the Utah Jazz (1981-82), and the Cleveland Cavaliers (1982-83). Nicks for the Nuggets before being traded to the Utah Jazz on December 22, 1980 for Billy McKinney. He backed up Rickey Green with Utah. He was subsequently released by the Jazz early in the 1982 season and was signed as a free agent by the Cavaliers.

Presented is Carl Nicks game-worn button snap-down style (1980-82) warm-up jacket from the Utah Jazz. It originates directly from a team-source and epitomizes pro-basketball style in the 1980s.

The flamboyant leisure suit scheme is mainly yellow but shows a patchwork of Jazz color including a contrasting green pointed dentist collar with fancy shoulder lapels and front button pockets. The front also features seven buttons and the tail portion features a purple “Jazz  Logo”.

The back features pre-color screened on Jazz logo which measures a whopping 7″. The jacket displays early to 1979-80 with Medalist Sand-Knit label featuring player size (44) with 4″ L (extra length). And players (#22) screen printed on a square swatch with zigzag stitching. He was #22 in 1982. The number designation is consistent with exemplars we have seen on the market and in our database. The snazzy jacket also has great game wear. Consistent wear from an entire season can be seen throughout.
