In September 1982, Freeman Williams was traded by the Atlanta Hawks along with John Drew, and cash to the Utah Jazz in exchange for Dominique Wilkins who was drafted by the Jazz and refused to sign. After that season (1982-83), Williams only played in 27 more games: 18 with Utah in 1983 and nine with the Washington Bullets in 1986.
Presented is a Freeman Williams game-worn pullover (1982-83 season) warm-up jacket from the Utah Jazz. It originates directly from a team-source and epitomizes pro-basketball style in the 1980s. This one, in particular, can be dated to 1982-83 season primarily because that is the season he was there.
The warm-up shows the Jazz color including a striped pattern in yellow/purple/green across the front and highlighted collar/sleeve ends in the same colors. The front also features a screened on Jazz logo. The collar tagging shows it is [size] L Champion. The back of the jacket has a sewn-on name-plate with a screened on “WILLIAMS”. Consistent wear from an entire season can be seen throughout, with puckering and fraying.
