Description

The 1984 NBA Championship featured Magic Johnson vs. Larry Bird. It was a seven game series, and the Celtics with Bird defeated the Lakers at Boston Garden 111-102. The victory solidified the match-up as one of the greatest rivalries of all time. It was one of the most watched NBA Finals in the history of the game. Bird would end up being named the Finals MVP after being named the League MVP for the regular season.

This size 10, 10k yellow gold salesman sample ring commemorates the first Magic-Bird NBA Finals showdown, as the Celtics topped the Lakers in seven games for the championship. In NM-MT condition, this sample features a CZ (5 mm) in the center of a green enameled shamrock on its top, surrounded by the words, “BOSTON CELTICS WORLD CHAMPIONS.”

One panel of the ring features the name “BIRD” as well as the word “PRIDE” and a representation of the Larry O’Brien championship trophy, as well as a leprechaun. The other panel includes the NBA logo in green enamel, the year – “1984”, and the word “TEAMWORK.” The inside of the band is marked “LGB 10K” for Balfour (and 10K gold) and engraved with the factory serial numbers – 8676129-25.
