SKU: 39158 Category:

The description for this item has been updated. We have determined this is a 1985 team-signed football.

Nobody figured Jerry Rice would be the performer he turned out to be. Drafted in the middle of the first round, Rice became the game’s best offensive threat. After 20 years in the league, Rice has distanced himself from his other wide receiver contemporaries. This white panel Wilson football is signed by the entire ’85 squad. This is the oldest Rice signature we have ever encountered. The ball can be linked to 1985 because of the inclusion of Rice and Tory Nixon. Both began their careers with the 49ers in 1985. Although the ball says World Champions, San Fran won the Super Bowl in ’84, so this ball honors the ’85 squad. One panel has “San Francisco 49ers World Champions” screened on. All of the signatures are executed in blue ballpoint. PSA/DNA has assessed the 44 signatures a grade of Mint 9. Those who signed include: Tory Nixon, Jim Fahnhorst, trong>Roger Craig, John Harty, Carl Monroe, Derrick Harmon, Bill Ring, Guy McIntrye, Dwight Hicks, Jim Stuckey, John Ayers, Michael Walter, Wendell Tyler, Bruce Collie, trong>Joe Montana, “Hands” Johnson, Roy Ferrari, Mike Wilson, Ray Wersching, trong> Jerry Rice, Dana McLemore, Dwight Clark, Manu Tuiasosopo, Freddie Solomon, Bubba Paris, Earl Cooper, Max Runager, Jeff Fuller, Dwaine Board, Matt Cavanaugh, Milt McColl, Carlton Williamson, John Frank, Todd Shell, Keena Turner, trong>Ronnie Lott, Fred Quillan, Jim Leonard and others. A PSA/DNA sticker and full letter will accompany. The ball displays slight cracking, but this obviously doesn’t detract from the overall appeal of the autographs.

The full PSA/DNA letter states this is a team-signed ball by the ’85 team. The World Champions reference may be made because the team won the Super Bowl in the 1985 calendar year although it was the ’84 season.
