In 1986-87 Michael Jordan played like he was from another planet. In 82 games, he became only the second man to score over 3,000 points in a season – Chamberlain being the only other in this two-man fraternity. Thanks to his countless scoring sprees, Jordan became sports’ signature star. Before MJ burst onto the scene, basketball languished behind football and baseball in terms of popularity. Jordan made basketball chic.

His Airness wore the offered size "44" jersey during the 1986-87 season. Beginning in ’87 Sand Knit, the supplier of Bulls’ jerseys during this time period, had year tags. Beginning in 1986, the Bulls (and the rest of the NBA) adopted the NBA logo on the left stirrup. Because this jersey does not have a year tag but it includes the NBA silhouette on the stirrup, it was necessarily worn in 1986. Just imagine how many times MJ took it to the basket when he wore this mesh pullover.

All of the identifiers are expressed in two-color (heat-pressed). "JORDAN" is arched atop the verso numbers in single-color red. Sewn in the tail are three labels: "3" L.B.," Bulls Sand Knit exclusivity and size. The jersey shows moderate wear.
