Description

The nickname that Los Angeles Dodgers manager Tommy Lasorda gave Orel Hershiser was “Bulldog.” On the mound, he didn’t look like a dominating bulldog-type pitcher but anyone in the batter’s box was aware of his skill and fierce determination. This professional baseball glove was worn by Hershiser circa 1986. That season he went 14-14 with a 3.85 ERA. The following season he was an All-Star. It is a MacGregor PX1 fielder’s glove.

It shows moderate wear in the pocket, web face and throughout the body. It is constructed of MacGregor’s “Premium Prohide” tanned cowhide, bound with tanned rawhide laces (solid triple lace web style). Conventional crown back wrist enclosure with an “Adjusta” wrist strap, dual laced fingers, a Flex Action palm hinge and a double break heel. The MacGregor label is branded above the wrist strap. His last name and jersey number are also notated in black felt tip on one side. He autographed the top of the pinky area in blue felt tip with the year notation “1986”.

Authentication: PSA/DNA Full Letter (for game use) and JSA Auction House Letter (for autograph).
