1987 Minnesota Twins World Series Champions Team-Signed Ball (Puckett, Hrbek, Viola)
Out of stock
Nobody expected the Minnesota Twins to create much of a splash during the 1987 season. The year before the “Twinkies” finished with a 71-91 record and things didn’t look too promising for a dramatic turnaround. But everything fell into place and led by the offense of Kirby Puckett, Gary Gaetti and Kent Hrbek the Twins flourished and downed the St. Louis Cardinals in a memorable World Series. This OAL (Brown) ball is penned by the 1987 Twins in black ballpoint. Roy Smalley and Al Newman and Gene Larkin all signed this ball. Smalley played his last year with the Twins in ’87 while that was Newman’s and Larkin’s first season with the club. The 30 signatures have faded to (“7”) but still includes: Tom Kelly, Smalley, Mark Davidson, Gene Larkin, Puckett, Newman, Tony Oliva, Keith Atherton, Mike Smithson, Gaetti, Frank Viola, Tim Laudner, Randy Bush, Jeff Reardon, Hrbek among others.
