1988-89 Magic Johnson Game-Worn Lakers Shorts

Conversely, Magic Johnson made his teammates better and was recognized for that quality more than anything else. Magic sported these [size] “36” shorts when Showtime was ruling the Los Angeles scene. Five tags are to be found in the gold waistband: “88”, exclusivity tag, Sand Knit tag, “1 “HR” and “32” (written in black felt tip). The hue of the gold waistband trim is deeper than the side panels. Nice wear, including tag wear, appear on these bright purple shorts. L.A. is a hot spot for glitz and glamor, but nothing can compare to what the Lake Show did in the mid ’80s with the likes of Kareem, Big Game James and the man known as Magic.
