Description
Over 55,000 saw some baseball history on July 12th, 1988 at the 59th Major League All Star Game held at Cincinnati’s Riverfront Stadium. Oakland A’s catcher Terry Steinbach smacked a two run shot off of Dwight Gooden which not only proved to be enough offense for the American Leaguers, but it also put Steinbach into the annals of baseball lore. He’s the only player to ever hit a home run in both his first at-bat in the majors and in his first at-bat in an All-Star Game!
Presented is a baseball signed by the National League All Stars who lost the game. They all signed this ONL (Giamatti) ball, which is in NM condition with mild toning; the autographs which are light and average “7” range (with some more, some less). There are 30 autographs including: Ozzie Smith, Bob Knepper, Darryl Strawberry, Chris Sabo, Orel Hershiser, Andy Van Slyke, David Cone, Gary Carter, Greg Maddux, Will Clark, Todd Worrell, Danny Jackson, Andre Dawson, Andres Galarraga, Vance Law, Mark Davis, Roger Craig (coach), Whitey Herzog (coach) and many others.
