1988 World Series Game-Used Ball

Out of stock

SKU: 18855 Category:

The 1988 World Series wasn’t a real bright spot for Oakland A’s fans. Despite being heavy favorites, the Los Angeles Dodgers shocked the sporting world when they upended the A’s 4-1. The only A’s win came in Game 3 when Mark McGwire hit the go-ahead homer off of the Dodgers Jay Howell in the eighth inning. Offered is an Official World Series ball used in that game. Long-time Oakland trainer Barry Weinberg inscribed “Best Wishes A’s ’88” on the sweet spot and added “Game 3” on a side panel. The ball shows good game use with mild toning throughout. Weinberg personally gave the ball to our consignor.
