Description

Curt Warner could have run for mayor in Seattle in 1983, and probably won by a landslide. The running back out of Penn State led the AFC in rushing his rookie season. The campaign culminated in a trip to the AFC Championship Game. The following year, Warner was felled by a torn ACL. Despite the scary injury, Warner reached All-Pro status four times during his career.

This size "42" jersey was worn by Warner in 1989, when he amassed  631 yards. One black hit scrape is apparent on the "8" on back. The left "2" shoulder number has a few red marks which are somewhat washed out. Our guess is it was from red facemasks. Each of the numbers is heat pressed and the NOB is applied straight to the jersey. Diamond-shaped inserts are found under the arms. Sewn in the tail is a Wilson tag (ruckled), size flag tag and "BV" factory code. The factory code reveals it was manufactured in August of 1989, just in time for the season.

The jersey was obtained from a former NFL equipment manager.
