1989 Ellis Burks Game-Worn Jersey Signed Red Sox – COA JSA & 100% Authentic Team

Selected by the Boston Red Sox in the first round (20th pick) of the 1983 Major League Baseball draft, Ellis Burks made his debut in the 1987 season as a regular center fielder at age 22, becoming the third player in Red Sox history to hit 20 home runs and steal 20 bases in one season. He was selected to both the Baseball Digest and Topps “All-Rookie” teams. Defensively, Burks showed excellent range, a sure glove and a strong arm. Burks, however, was injury-prone. He had shoulder surgery in 1989, and it was the first of many setbacks for him.

Presented is a 1989 Boston Red Sox game worn jersey of Ellis Burks. On the front left tail is the Wilson manufacturer’s tag with washing instructions. Adjacent below is a box tag reading the year “89”. Across the chest reads “RED SOX” and on the back is the player number “12”. All numbering and lettering is done in red on navy blue tackle twill. Overall, it shows wear with some soiling remnants, malleable tagging and ruckling throughout. The highlight is that it was autographed in the collar by Burks in black felt tip (“9”).
