1991 Edgar Martinez Game-Used Mariners Bat w/Fernando Gonzalez Letter (Also Attributed to Teammate)

Edgar Martinez should become a Hall of Famer in 2010. One of the finest designated hitters, Martinez was a lock to hit .300 and helped the Mariners reach playoff status on a few occasions. Martinez gifted this Louisville Slugger model T141 bat (33 1/2") to former big leaguer Fernando Gonzalez. A letter signed by Gonzalez will serve as authentication.

Heavy use is exhibited as evidenced by a crack on the back barrel. A layer of deadwood is evident on the front barrel. Plenty of bat rack streaks and ball marks are visible as well.

The bat may have been used by Martinez and teammate Alonzo Powell in 1991. "AP Alonzo Powell 22" is written on the knob in paint pen. "EDGAR MARTINEZ" is punched into the barrel in plain block lettering.
