1992 Dwight Gooden Game-Worn Jersey Signed NY Mets – COA JSA & 100% Team
Dwight Gooden was a pitching sensation that started his career off right winning the NL Rookie of the Year Award in 1984. He also won the Cy Young his sophomore season and did well for the Mets in the World Series winning season in 1986.
Presented is an away jersey worn by Gooden during the 1992 Mets season. The button-down is a Russell Athletic and features “NEW YORK” across the front chest in layered orange, white and blue tackle twill. Front tagging shows that it’s a [size] 48 with 2″ Extra Body Length and material flags. Coding shows the season on a patch under the main tag – “NEW YORK METS 92s”.
The verso of the jersey has “GOODEN” and his number “16” sewn on in blue, orange and white tackle twill. Each sleeve and side features a ribbed orange/blue/orange vertical stripe from the neck to the end and then along the sides to the bottom. The left sleeve has a memorial “S” patch in honor of William Shea, who died in October of 1991. Gooden signed his name “Doc Gooden” in blue marker on the front of the jersey and inscribed his number, “16.” This jersey shows good game use with thread fraying concentrated on the front identifiers portion and soft malleable tagging.
