Description

Countless hours are spent on the practice field before a team becomes a cohesive unit. The San Francisco 49ers built themselves into winners with veteran leadership. This practice jersey was worn by Ken Norton as he prepared for the Super Bowl in 1995. According to esteemed jersey authenticator Lou Lampson, it was a common practice for the 49ers to recycle their jerseys from the past. This most likely belonged to veteran center Randy Cross before it was relegated to the practice field. Multiple team repairs are instituted on the mesh shoulders. All of the identifiers are screened on in single-color red. Both sleeve ends are custom hemmed. A Russell Athletic [size] “46” tag is affixed in the tail as is a suspended fabric flag tag. The size designator is crossed out and replaced with “46.” A strip of athletic tape is placed where the NOB would be and reads: “vs. Chargers Super Bowl.” The winning bidder will also receive a team letter stating the jersey was worn by Norton leading up to the Super Bowl.
