Rohan Marley is a Jamaican entrepreneur and former football player. He is the son of reggae artist Bob Marley and Janet Hunt, and father of model Selah Marley and football player Nico Marley. He was born during his father’s marriage to Rita, and went to live with her from the age of four until moving to live with Marley’s mother after his father died of cancer in Miami in 1981.
A 1991 graduate of Miami Palmetto Senior High School, Marley played linebacker for the University of Miami, where he played alongside Dwayne Johnson, Warren Sapp and Ray Lewis. In 1993, he led the Hurricanes with 95 tackles. He later played professional football in the Canadian Football League with the Ottawa Rough Riders.
This game worn artifact originates from a team source.
Presented from their collection is a Rohan Marley Miami Hurricanes game-worn jersey from 1994. It is a white Hurricanes jersey with appliquéd traditional sleeve striping in orange/green. It features Marley’s number “2” printed on the chest, back, and shoulders in green with orange borders. One sleeve features a Big East logo and the other features a College Anniversary 125th Anniversary patch (dating the jersey to 1994).
On the back nameplate, “MARLEY” is printed across the back shoulders in orange lettering. The sides of the jersey are elasticized for fit. The jersey shows great wear overall with most noticeable that the bottom portion was custom cut short for fit.
