Bob Boone is an American former catcher and manager in Major League Baseball (MLB) who was a four-time All-Star. Born in San Diego, California, he is the son of a Major League player, the late third baseman Ray Boone, and he is the father of two Major Leaguers: former second baseman Bret Boone and former utility infielder Aaron Boone. All four family members were named All-Stars during their careers. He returned to the Royals in 1995 as the manager of the team but was let go during the 1997 season after a third straight sub-.500 season.
Presented is a jersey worn by Boone in 1995. Nice “Royals” logo across the front with his jersey number “8” It has the proper “Russell Athletic [size] 46” and “8-95” tags in the tail. Back has his name “BOONE” on a nameplate and his jersey number in blue “8” sewn on. Great Royals patch is on the left sleeve. Shows dirt/soiling wear on front. It was autographed on the front by the skipper in blue felt tip for added measure.
