Back in the 1990s, the East Coast vs. West Coast rap battle raged on. Whether the beef was real or some sort of genius promotional gimmick we will never know. Many of the people who could have answered the question are now gone. Within a short period of time we lost two of the most influential hip hop artists in Biggie and Tupac. Fortunately, their memory and influence is not lost and still viable through the music they created.
Offered for your consideration is a rare original music recording in the studio. They originate from Tower Mastering Music Company in 1995. It is a small DAT (Digital Audio Tape) tapes featuring Tupac Shakur. It is Tupac “Runnin” (Clean) 4:31 and are marked 1:1 Safety Copy – dated December 4, 1995 – with Radio Edit noted in red pen. It should be noted that in the music released to the public – The Notorious B.I.G. aka Biggie Smalls was also on the track.
These tapes were not played so it is unknown what the exact recordings are and if Biggie is featured.
