1996 Rod Woodson Game-Used, Signed Steelers Jersey (2009 Hall of Famer)

Description
Rod Woodson will take his place among the game’s great when he enters the hallowed halls of Canton later this year. Woodson played at an elite level through his nearly two-decade-long NFL career. The 11-time Pro Bowler wore this size “46” jersey during the 1996 season – his final in the Steel City. The jersey is amazing as it has durene shoulders/sleeve ends and a traditional mesh body. Pittsburgh was the last team to abandon durene. A few teams sporadically used durene jerseys in the ‘80s (Browns, Rams) but most favored portal mesh or traditional mesh. The Steelers maintained tradition when they used the material which can be dated to the ‘40s.
This garment shows great overall use with a noticeable abrasion on the left breast. The opposite side sports a pronounced hit scrape. Various scuff marks are visible on the single-color white tackle twill numerals on front. Of special note are the gold threads which are zig-zag sewn in the inner collar. This is the hallmark of any good Steelers gamer. Both sleeve ends are ribbed and triangular inserts are situated under the arms. Sewn in the tail is a Starter Steelers exclusivity tag, “96” (year) swatch and size label. “WOODSON” is applied to a tightly cropped durene nameplate. There are no tags sewn in the collar.
