1996 Tony Gwynn Game-Used, Signed Batting Practice Bat
Out of stock
Description
Tony Gwynn was truly one of baseball’s treasures. Even as he got older, Gwynn could still hit for a high average. Pitchers never were able to figure out Mr. Padre. This Adirondack bat (30.2 ounces) was used by Gwynn in 1996. According to PSA bat authenticator John Taube this stick was most likely used in batting practice given the lack of tape on the barrel. A plethora of black ball transfer marks appear on the right and back barrel from use. Black bat rack marks pepper all sides of the barrel. Light pine tar application is evident on the barrel. “19” is underlined in black marker on the barrel and knob. The knob is stamped “279 017 96.” Gwynn signed the barrel in black felt tip. Celebrate Gwynn’s induction into the Hall of Fame with this fine piece of lumber.
