Will Shields is a shoe-in for the Pro Football Hall of Fame. His NFL resume includes 12 trips to the Pro Bowl in 14 years of service, numerous All-Pro nods, the 2003 Walter Payton Man of the Year and Ed Block Courage Award.

The Chiefs are still trying to find the winning formula enjoyed from when Shields was on the squad. Players such as Priest Holmes, Larry Johnson and Marcus Allen owe a debt of gratitude to Shields as well. Each had banner seasons when Shields was creating holes.

This battle-tested helmet was used by Shields during the 1996 season and also in the ’97 Pro Bowl. Players traditionally wear their regular season helmet in the Pro Bowl. It can be linked to usage in the Pro Bowl because the ’97 Pro Bowl sticker is positioned atop the warning sticker. Deep gouges consume the fire engine red size "XL" shell. Three of the facemask clips date to 1996, and the massive white cage dates to 1995.Surrounding the left inner ear hole is a "68" white on clear square dot identifier, recondition sticker and an All American XL shield sticker. A double low hookup chinstrap with "68" stickered on each end is present with glorious wear.

This outstanding helmet was originally sourced from a former NFL equipment manager.
