With alacrity, Edgerrin James ran up and down the field for the Indianapolis Colts. He regained his All-Pro form in 2003 with the Colts. Following a lost 2001 season, with a torn ACL, James rebounded with a 989-yard season in 2002. By ’03, he was back as one of the NFL’s most dominating runners, amassing 1,259 yards and 11 touchdowns.
Before his NFL career, Edgerrin James made himself into a household name when he attended the University of Miami. By the time he was ready for the NFL, the Colts were more than happy suitors for his abilities.
This white Nike size “46” Nike Hurricanes away jersey was worn by James at the “U” in 1997. Jersey itself has a mesh body and stretch fabric running down from the top shoulder pad area to the sides of the torso. The identifiers are in orange/green with a centralized “U” trademark on the front collar. Mild running back wear (soiling) is present most notable on the shoulders. Sewn in the collar is a Nike size tag with equipment manager’s marking “5” in black felt tip. All of the identifiers are heat-pressed. “JAMES” is applied to an elongated nameplate in red (is peeling). Sewn on the front right shoulder is a “The Big East” patch and Nike manufacturer’s logo on the opposite side. Overall, a tremendous early game jersey from a legendary running back.
Included for authentication is a letter from the Miami Hurricanes equipment manager.
