Description
Mark Grudzielanek made his Major League debut on April 28, 1995, with the Expos against the Chicago Cubs, striking out as a pinch hitter against Mike Walker. He made his first start (at second base) the following day but did not record his first major league hit (a double) until May 4 against New York Mets relief pitcher Mike Remlinger. His first career home run came on May 16, 1995, against Kevin Jarvis of the Cincinnati Reds. He appeared in 78 games that season, hitting .245.
Presented is a Mark Grudzielanek game worn Montreal Expos jersey from the 1997 season. All of the identifiers are sewn to the jersey in two-color red/blue tackle twill. “GRUDZIELANEK” is affixed to the verso in full serif block in an arched formation. The right sleeve bears a Jackie Robinson patch (the French version) which has been factory zig-zag affixed, and the left sleeve holds an Expos team patch. Tail tagging includes a Russell Athletic [size] 46 swatch and fabric flag tag. Overall, shows moderate wear with thread fraying on the identifiers etc.
For added measure, Grudzielanek signed the back number in gold paint pen (“8-9”).
