1997 Pedro Martinez Game-Worn Expos Jersey
Out of stock
1997 was a break-out season for the diminutive fire-balling Dominican, Pedro Martinez. Even while languishing north of the border with dwindling crowds, he went 17-8, leading the league with a 1.90 ERA and 305 strikeouts. The performance earned him his first Cy Young Award and this representation traces to that personally triumphant season. The jersey body has royal blue pinstripes and two-color, royal blue/red sewn-on identifiers. The tail holds a Russell Athletic Diamond Collection size 44 label, with dual flag tags, designating fabric content and 1” extra length customization. The sleeves are patch happy, with the Expos logo displayed on the left, and the collector-precious Jackie Robinson 50th Anniversary patch (French version) and Russell “R” logo on the right. The NOB is arched perfectly and the jersey not only emanates beauty, but defunct beauty! Label wear is evident, but overall, light, a reflection of Pedro breezing through N.L. lineups on cool Canadian summer nights.
