Description

Rod Carew is a Panamanian former Major League Baseball (MLB) first baseman, second baseman and coach who played from 1967 to 1985 for the Minnesota Twins and the California Angels. The greatest contact hitter in Twins history, he won the 1977 AL Most Valuable Player Award, setting a Twins record with a .388 batting average. Carew appeared in 18 straight All-Star Games and led the AL in hits three times, with his 239 hits in 1977 being twelfth most at the time.

Presented is a Rod Carew game-issued jersey his coaching days with the Anaheim Angels in 1997. The jersey does not show any wear or feature the indicative Jackie Robinson patch for the season rendering it issued. Front tail tagging shows it is a Rawlings with two flap tags: Set 1 1997 and [size] 40. It showcases a great front Angels logo on the chest and his number “29”. The back also features his number and last name “CAREW” in drop shadow two-color tackle twill. A nice patch adorns the sleeve with it being the Angels logo (right).

The jersey is also highlighted by Rod Carew’s autograph on the front. It was signed in blue felt tip (“9”) under the logo.
