Description
1997 Titanic Movie Prop Dinner Plate Framed. The Titanic was a British passenger liner operated by the White Star Line that sank in the North Atlantic Ocean on 15 April 1912, after striking an iceberg during her maiden voyage from Southampton to New York City. Of the estimated 2,224 passengers and crew aboard, more than 1,500 died, making the sinking at the time one of the deadliest peacetime sinking of a superliner or cruise ship to date.
Presented is a movie prop, a beautiful 10″ British shipping company” dinner plate in a 13.5″ X 16.5″ gold-painted wooden frame. In the center of the plate is the British shipping companies “logo ( a red flag with a star and an engraving in a gold banner “White Star Line”).  Also a 2″ X 3″ golden plaque that reads “TITANIC Twentieth Century Fox 1997” is under the plate. The Oceanic Steam Navigation Company, more commonly known as the White Star Line, was a British shipping company. Founded out of the remains of a defunct packet company, it gradually rose up to become one of the most prominent shipping lines in the world, providing passenger and cargo services between the British Empire and the United States.
