Description
As a fifteen-year veteran, Jim Thome is among the most prolific on the home run chart. Now, with Thome and Paul Konerko playing in tandem, the White Sox will have a more potent offense than last year’s World Series champs. In the early part of Thome’s career with the (Cleveland Indians in 1998, precisely), he used this Rawlings Adirondack model 491 A. With moderate pine tar, the handle is tape-covered, and it has a 1 1/2” visible crack. Several hit and ball transfer marks (blue) are evident on the barrel. Thome’s number “25” as well as the length and weight (35″ and 32 oz.) have been applied to the cupped barrel end in black felt tip. The knob has a silver paint pen notation “25.” There is very heavy smoke damage on the handle and barrel.
