1999 Leroy Butler Game-Worn Packers Jersey (w/Team Repair)

Leroy Butler was the rock of the Green Bay Packer defense which dominated pro football in the mid ’90s. Green and gold admirers relished Butler’s high-stepping antics and big hits from the safety position. The aspiring Hall of Famer wore this size “48” jersey in the 1999 season during the Ray Rhodes Experiment. (Although not confirmed, our consignor said the jersey was worn Dec. 26, 1999 when the Packers played at Tampa Bay.) Light scuff marks are evident on the “6” left shoulder numeral. A team-instituted repair is evident just above the Nike logo. All of the single-color green identifiers have frayed considerably and show a softness from washings. The dazzle cloth shoulders are supported by a mesh body. Both sleeve ends feature green and gold striping and they’re elasticized. Tail tagging includes a Nike size (wavered) tag while the inner side seam secures a “Made in Berlin” flag tag.
