1999 Tony Gwynn Game-Worn, Signed & Dated Batting Gloves “Hit #2994”

Tony Gwynn was the epitome of consistency. The perennial .330 hitter, who took advantage of all parts of the field, wore this particular pair of batting gloves when he slapped his 2,994 hit on Sept. 1, 1999. “2994” and “9/1/99” are written on the front Franklin leather tags on both gloves. Gwynn also signed (“7-8″) both Franklin labels in blue felt tip.”19” is identified on the Velcro fastener on both. White athletic tape surrounds each of the fingers. Both gloves show remarkable game wear.
