The Mariners selected Alex Rodriguez first overall in the 1993 MLB draft, and he debuted in the major leagues the following year at the age of 18. In 1996, he became the Mariners’ starting shortstop, won the major league batting championship, and finished second in voting for the AL MVP Award. His combination of power, speed, and defense made him a cornerstone of the franchise, but he left the team via free agency after the 2000 season to join the Rangers.
Presented is a pair of Rodriguez’s Nike game worn cleats from 2000 with the Mariners. Nice wear on this rare pair of cleats worn during the superstar infielder’s final days in Seattle. Highly customized Nike shoes have Mariners teal swooshes, “AROD” embroidered on each heel, and number “3” on each tongue. Tagging in interior shows they are appropriate as Promos – [size] 12. Heavy wear is present throughout noticeable on the toe box as well as exterior soiling from the infield. Rodriguez signed each shoe in silver paint pen (“7-8”). It includes a letter from Alex Rodriguez’s authorized company (CSI) as authentication.
