2001 Alex Rodriguez Game-Used, Signed Rangers Jersey (w/Umpire John Hirschbeck Letter)

Alex Rodriguez has never had a down year. Each season, he puts up All-Star caliber numbers and dominates the opposition. When he decides to call it a career, it is conceivable that A-Rod will be considered the greatest ballplayer ever to step on the diamond. Decidedly, this Rangers jersey was worn by A-Rod in 2001 because it includes an American League 100 Seasons patch on the right sleeve. The wonderful garment was sourced from AL umpire John Hirschbeck who auctioned it at his ALD Foundation Golf Outing in July 2001. There is no Rawlings manufacturer’s tag in the tail. Both the Rangers and Hirschbeck confirmed that Rodriguez requested the tail tagging be removed because of the possibility of “chafing.” There are outlines remains where the Rawlings tag was originally situated. A letter of authenticity from the John Hirschbeck ALD Celebrity Golf Outing will be provided to the winning bidder, along with two ticket stubs from the event. Light use is visible on the jersey. The numerals are applied in three-color, drop-shadow tackle twill while “RODRIGUEZ” (two-color tackle twill) is arched to a nameplate above the verso numbers. A Texas state patch is sewn on the left sleeve. A-Rod signed (“10”) the verso in blue felt tip.
