Tony Gwynn was a model athlete with attention to detail when it came to hitting. The Hall of Famer used this bat late in his career with the Padres in 2001. Even while hampered with injuries, he still managed to bat his 19th consecutive season with at least a .300 batting average that year.
The game-used bat is an uncracked ash Louisville Slugger model B267 from the 2001 labeling period with a cupped barrel end. Excellent game use is shown on the barrel with several ball / stitch marks are visible on the right, back and front barrel. There’s also a moderate coating of pine tar on the center brand. The lower handle was taped in a spiral pattern and then removed. The length (33( and weight and Gwynn’s number on written on the knob in black felt tip. Actual length / weight: 32-7/8″ and 30.7 oz.
A PSA/DNA LOA is included for authentication wit a bat grade of PSA GU 8.
