2004 NL Playoffs – St. Louis Cardinals – Albert Pujols Game X-Bat (PSA/DNA GU LOA)Go Back
Out of stock
Albert Pujols is a Major League fan favorite. He got his start in St. Louis where he had many productive seasons for the Cardinals. In 2004, he joined Joe DiMaggio and Ted Williams as the only players to have 500 RBIs in their first four seasons. He led the league in runs scored and finished third in MVP voting.
Later that season the Cardinals won the NL Central division aided by Pujols. In Game 4 of the NLDS (vs. Dodgers) he hit a three-run homer off of Wilson Alvarez (also had four RBIs) to secure the victory. The Cardinals advanced to the World Series behind Pujols as the NLCS MVP (.500 with four home runs and nine RBIs).
This Pujols game used X-Bat by Tuff Bats is from the 2004 NL Playoffs. The games attribution is stamped on the barrel along with “MODEL 24 – ALBERT PUJOLS – 2004 NL PLAYOFFS – PRO MAPLE34.”
It has a cupped end, is uncracked and exhibits evidence of moderate use. There are several ball marks and ball stitch impressions on the right, left and back barrel. The ball marks include blue ink transfers on the barrel. There’s a moderate coating of pine tar on the handle. The MLB mandatory handle face grain (Maple) marking is also present. Pujol’s number “5” is written on the knob and top barrel end in black felt tip.
Images of Pujols during the 2004 postseason show him swinging Louisville Slugger bats. However, there is a photo of Pujols and David Ortiz (shown on the LOA) during batting practice of the World Series (prior to a Game in 2004 WS) that show Pujols with a X bat of the same model.
