Randy Moss’ career plays like a melodrama. There have been high highs, and painful low lows. But when his career finally concludes, Moss will rank among the greatest wide receivers not named "Jerry Rice." Love him or hate him, when right, Moss is the game’s top threat.

This jersey, authenticated by a Vikings team letter, was worn in the famous game when Moss left the field with three seconds remaining and his team down by a field goal. On Jan. 2, 2005 the Vikings were losing to the Redskins with a handful of seconds remaining, and Moss decided to call it a day. The Vikes attempted an onside kick, but Moss was nowhere to be found, having already repaired to the showers. Critics don’t remember, though, that Moss had hauled in five passes for 66 yards and a touchdown. This is the jersey Moss wore that fateful day. A photo on Getty Images (51909655) matches this jersey, namely with the scuff marks on the front “8” numeral. According to the accompanying Vikings team letter, this is the jersey worn for that game. Handwritten on the item line of the certificate is “#84 Randy Moss Game-Worn Jersey 2004 01/02/05 @ Washington.” Decent use is shown with rippling on the two-color tackle twill identifiers. Both sleeve ends are ribbed. “MOSS” is applied to a tightly-cropped nameplate. Both shoulders are dazzle cloth while the body is of a traditional mesh material. Spandex inserts are tailored into the sides. The back “4” number has “worn 1-02-05 at Washington” written in ballpoint. The jersey is hemmed above the tag line. Sewn in the collar is an “04-44” swatch and “L” (cut) identifier.
