Description
After the 2007 season, the Kansas City Royals named Rusty Kuntz their first-base coach. In October 2009, the team reassigned him, designating him field instructor and special assistant to the team’s general manager, Dayton Moore. In August 2012, he was named the Royals’ first base coach after the dismissal of Doug Sisson. Sisson had replaced Kuntz as the Royals’ first base coach after the 2010 season. At the conclusion of the 2012 season, the Royals announced that they would retain Kuntz for the 2013 season.
Presented is a game worn Rusty Kuntz Kansas City Royals home jersey from the 2009 season. Across the chest reads “Royals”. The coach’s number “18” appears below and on the back and across the back reads the player name “KUNTZ” in blue tackle twill. On the front left tail is the Majestic manufacturer’s tag size “48” with Cool Base flap tag in the seam. On the left inseam is a “0063” coding, jersey materials and washing instructions tag. On the right sleeve is a Royals “40th ANNIVERSARY” patch and on the left sleeve is a Royals team logo patch with a “Majestic” logo embroidered beneath. This jersey is properly tagged and shows light use.
