Description

On February 11, 2014, Kenley Jansen avoided his first arbitration hearing by signing a $4.3 million contract with the Dodgers. Fully established as the Dodgers’ closer in 2014, Jansen worked in 68 games with a 2.76 ERA, 101 strikeouts and 44 saves. He became just the fourth Dodger pitcher in history with 40+ saves in a season, joining Éric Gagné (who did it three times), Todd Worrell and Jeff Shaw. Jansen only pitched one inning in the NLDS against the Cardinals.

Presented is a Kenley Jansen Los Angeles Dodgers jerseys from August 7, 2014. MLB authentication dated the jersey for that game. In the game, the Dodgers won 7-0 against the Angels and did not need their closer Jansen to pitch.

The away jersey features Jansen’s name and number “74” sewn on the back, with “Los Angeles” in script and a red numeral identifier “74” on the front. The button-up jersey has the Majestic size 48 manufacturer label on the tail. There’s an additional Majestic coding label on the button path. The “LA ” logo is sewn onto left sleeve in blue tackle twill.  Overall, it shows mild wear. The highlight is that Jansen signed the front number in black felt tip (“8”).
