Out of stock
Ben Roethlisberger has been one of the most efficient passers in NFL history. He is a former first round pick (2004) and has led the Pittsburgh Steelers to two Super Bowl titles during his career so far.
He currently ranks 6th all-time in NFL career passing yards, 9th all-time in passer rating (94.0), tied for 6th in yards per attempt (7.93), and tied for 10th in completion percentage (63.85%) among quarterbacks with a minimum of 1,500 career attempts. He has the fourth highest career winning percentage (.710) as a starter in the regular season among quarterbacks with a minimum of 100 starts. He is one of six quarterbacks in NFL history to have beaten at least 31 of the current NFL teams.
In 2015, Roethlisberger played in 12 games yet still managed to throw for 3,938 yards with 21 touchdowns and a league-best 328.2 passing yards per game. The Steelers clinched a playoff spot with a 10–6 record, finishing second in the AFC North behind the Cincinnati Bengals. They then defeated the Bengals by a score of 18–16 in the Wild Card Round, but lost to the eventual Super Bowl champion Denver Broncos in the Divisional Round by a score of 23-16. Roethlisberger was named to his fourth career Pro Bowl and was ranked 21st by his fellow players on the NFL Top 100 Players of 2016.
This black Steelers home jersey was worn by Roethlisberger during that 2015 season. This is a rare treasure to come to market as Steelers jerseys with this pedigree usually never make it into a private collection. The provenance is impeccable as it originated from a talented former teammate and quarterback room companion in Michael Vick.
Michael Vick signed and stated in his letter of provenance: “I, Michael Vick, a quarterback for the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2015, hereby upon my oath depose and say that this 2015 Pittsburgh Steelers Game Worn Jersey was given to me in 2015 by Ben Roethlisberger. I hope you enjoy this jersey as much as I have. This jersey has been in my personal possession until this offering. I own the jersey and it is free and clear of all Liens and Encumbrance’s. I CERTIFY THAT THE FORGOING STATEMENTS MADE BY ME ARE TRUE.”
It and has “Big Ben’s” number “7” sewn on the chest, back, and shoulders in white tackle twill. A nice circular Steelers patch accents the front. A NFL shield and a circular Steelers logo are both sewn on the chest of the jersey. “ROETHLISBERGER” is sewn across the back shoulders in yellow tackle twill over a matching black nameplate. A white Nike swoosh is sewn on each sleeve. The ends of the sleeves are accented with the Steelers yellow and white stripes. In proper fashion, a Nike size “46 Q-BK” tag with an attached “2015” flag is sewn on the back inside collar.
The jersey was signed on the back by Roethlisberger in black felt tip with the inscription, “Steeler for Life.” It shows great wear throughout with loose threading and sweat discoloration on the back number “7” (upper portion near inscription).
Overall, an outstanding rare treasure to add to any Steeler collection and see the light of day.
