3rd Annual LA Music Awards Lot COA Al Bowman CollectionGo Back
Out of stock
1st, 3rd, and 4th Annual ORIGINAL handmade wooden L.A. Music Award trophies and promotional material design sheets. In the first 5 years of the Los Angeles Music Awards, each award was made by hand. In 1991, the awards show was held at the Mardi Gras in Long Beach. It was the only venue that understood the importance of a big crowd to drive food and beverage sales. Not only that but much earlier in that year, “grunge rock” from Seattle had knocked out Los Angeles as the music capital of the world. Those first 5 years were a brutal fight for survival. NO SPONSORS were interested. These beautifully handcrafted trophies are a symbol of creativity and innovation. They represent the American spirit of striving and achievement. Regardless of the difficulties in those first few years of production, many future success stories came through the L.A. Music Awards pipeline. Dream Theater in 1991, Everclear and No Doubt in 1992, 311 in 1993, Sugar Ray in 1994 plus a few others made it all worthwhile for Al Bowman and his dreams of having a valid awards program in Los Angeles. Today, in over 1,000 cities around the world, the original concept of the Los Angeles Music Awards has been duplicated to serve the independent creative communities of those cities. Places like Portland, Oregon, San Diego, Dallas, Houston, Atlanta, Miami, Chicago, Toronto and hundreds of other locations ALL have used Al Bowman’s original awards show format to produce their own shows.
