8th Annual LA Music Awards Lot
In 1998, both Stolichnaya Vodka and Artistdirect.com stepped up with sizable sponsorship dollars. This enabled the show producers
to fund the biggest show to date. That included landing some star power as guest presenters. Cast members from Seinfeld, soap stars
from the Bold and The Beautiful and the Young and the Restless, Knot’s Landing, and many others all participated in this event.
More importantly, the cost of making a memorable award were able to be covered. For the first and only time, they were able to make
an award made of steel and other heavy metal components. This award design was the only time in 25 years that it was made from these very expensive materials.
