Adrian Delano Dantley (born February 28, 1956) is an American retired basketball player who played 15 seasons in the National Basketball Association (NBA). A forward and six-time NBA All-Star, he was inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame in 2008. In 2010, he was appointed acting head coach of the Denver Nuggets in the absence of stricken head coach George Karl. In Utah, Dantley reached his peak establishing his reputation as a prolific scorer, twice leading the league in scoring (in 1981 and 1984). He averaged over 30 points per game each season between 1981 and 1984, though he missed 60 games in 1983 after tearing ligaments in his right wrist. In his seven years with the Jazz, Dantley picked up all six of his All-Star appearances and two All-NBA second-team honors. Dantley’s 1980–1984 seasons include two of the top three and four of the top seven spots in true shooting percentage for players averaging at least 30 points per game.
Presented is a (Adrain Dantley ) game-worn button snap down (1979–1986) warm-up jacket from the Utah Jazz. It originates directly from a team-source and epitomizes pro-basketball style in the 1980s. It is the rarest style ever seen and was collected after the New Orleans Jazz moved and was stored by the team source. The virgin to the market warm-up has not seen the light of day until now.
The flamboyant leisure suit scheme is mainly yellow but shows a patchwork of Jazz color including a contrasting green pointed dentist collar with fancy shoulder lapels and front button pockets. The front also features seven buttons and the tail portion features a purple “(JAZZ Logo & 35th Anniversary Patch) The back features pre-color screened on Jazz logo which measures a whopping 7″. The jacket displays early to 1980s with Medallist Sand-Knit label ( size “46”) & players ID # (4 ) with washing instructions tag. Ensuing season versions displayed the hybrid Sand Knit labels used from 80,s in the exact same style jacket. The snazzy jacket also has great game wear. Consistent wear from an entire season can be seen throughout, with puckering and fraying throughout. Authentication: 100% Authentic Team
