Al Hirschfeld Autographed Photo (The Beatles Abbey Road Illustration)
Out of stock
For almost 75 years in The New York Times, artist Al Hirschfeld’s line illustrations captured the intensity of the American stage. A self-described “characterist”, Hirschfeld said his contribution was to take the character created by the playwright and portrayed by the actor, and to reinvent it for the reader. His drawings, which often appeared before a show’s opening, gave many readers an insight into Broadway’s newest shows. Hirschfeld passed away in 2003.
Offered is a copy of Hirshfeld’s line drawing (8.5″ x 11″) depicting The Beatles as they were photographed for the Abbey Road album cover. Signed in blue felt tip.
