Ronald Reagan was the nation’s 40th President from 1981-89. His ties to California ran deep as an actor turned 33rd Governor of the state from 1967-75. Naturally, like most Presidents he was a baseball fan and in particular enjoyed the Los Angeles Dodgers. He even called a the 1989 MLB All-Star Game with the legendary voice of the team Vin Scully.
Presented is a special Los Angeles Dodgers dugout jacket worn by Ronald Reagan at one of those games. It’s a W.A. Goodman & Sons brand with tagging listing the size as “44”. The tag also dates the manufacturing date of the jacket in the 1973-81 time period making it tied to the latter part of his Governorship or the early part of his Presidency. Just below the Goodman tag is a white (blank) fabric panel tag.
The blue satin jacket features the “Dodgers” team logo at the center in white tackle twill script. It features white striping on the blue elastic collar, cuffs and waistband. The interior has quilted lining for wear in cooler weather. The verso features the most prominent display of admiration as stitched in arched white tackle twill lettering “Reagan”. Overall, a great game used jacket worn by one of the nation’s most admired politicians.
