Description

Ange Armato is an American former infielder who played in the All-American Girls Professional Baseball League.  The All-American Girls Professional Baseball League (AAGPBL) was a professional women’s baseball league founded by Philip K. Wrigley which existed from 1943 to 1954. The AAGPBL is the forerunner of women’s professional league sports in the United States. Over 600 women played in the league, which consisted of eventually 10 teams located in the American Midwest. Armato is part of the Women in Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum in Cooperstown, New York, which was unveiled to honor the entire AAGPBL.

Presented is an OML (Selig) baseball autographed by Ange Armato.  She signed it on the sweet spot in a blue ballpoint pen (“9”). She also inscribed (49-53 the years she played). Armato played on the Kalamazoo Lassies from 1949 t0 1953). The ball itself shows toning from age.
